Career Cruising - An internet based career exploration and planning tool used by students to explore all postsecondary opportunities, (colleges, technical schools, jobs, etc.) scholarship information, learning styles, and build their portfolio/resume. What is an ILP? Stands for Individual Learning Plan - This is a Kentucky state law. It requires that all students 4th through 12th grade update their ILP to 100% each year until they graduate from high school. - Student Portion of the ILP:
- Education Plan - Develops students four year high school education plan
- Establish Personal Goals - and revisit them as they progress through school
- List Awards and Recognitions they have received
- Multimedia Interviews - video interviews with real people in each occupation which add depth and realism to career profiles
- Resume Builder - Create and maintain three styles of resumes (professional, contemporary, elegant
- College and Financial Aid Information - Explore colleges and postsecondary opportunities that match their career, postsecondary and life goals; also research scholarship opportunities
- Interest and Skills Assessment - a career assessment tool that helps students to identify suitable career options based on their interests and skills
- Learning Styles Assessment - a assessment tool that helps students identify how they learn
- Documents Their Work Experiences and Community Service Experiences - career-planning activities, extra-curricular activities, and organization activities
- Collects Personal Information - like assessment results, advising activities, demographic information and educational history
- Uploads Files such as essays, scanned artwork, and letters of reference for examples of their work
- Parent/Guardian Portion of the ILP Allows:
- Parents and guardians to view the work done by their child(ren)
- To learn more about the careers and schools your child(ren) is interested in
- To record thoughts and comments about your child(ren)'s learning plan
- To provide feedback to your child(ren)'s advisor(s) by email
- To approve your child(ren)'s ILP each year (4th through 12th grade) until your child(ren) graduate; contact administrator - (provided by your child's school counselor)
- To view student work that has been uploaded such as essays, artwork, letters of reference, etc; cannot change it

- click "Parents" (located in the left column)
- click "Kentucky ILP" (picture in the middle of the page)
- click on "Student/Parent Login"
- enter your Parent/Guardian username and password (provided by your child's school counselor)
- Students Can Invite Others to View Their ILP / Guest Views
